Louisiana Highway 21 lane closures north and south bound near Interstate 12 will begin Wednesday night and last through Aug. 11.

Crews will be working on patching and cold planing the roadway (weather permitting). The contractor is allowed lane closures under the following schedule: Sunday night through Thursday morning, 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.

During the nightly construction, one lane will open to traffic at all times. To avoid the lane closure, southbound motorists may take La. 21 to U.S. Highway 190 east to La. 22, west on La. 22 to La. 21; northbound motorists may take La. 21 to La. 22, east on La. 22 to U. S. 190, west on U.S. 190 to La. 21.

The Department of Transportation Development reminds motorists to drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
