Classic art comes alive at Geaux Arts Ball

Classic art under the theme “Exploring the presence of Mary throughout art history” was displayed as live tableau pieces at the seventh annual Geaux Arts Ball in the St. Tammany Art Association Center, 320 North Columbia St., recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Clement Francis Perschall Jr. of New Orleans announce the marriage of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Perschall, to Whitney Evans Gomila, stepson and son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Voorhies Crawford of New Orleans and son of Mr. Torrey Evans Gomila of Madisonville. The wedding was solemnized in November at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church. A reception followed at the New Orleans Country Club.

Pearce grand marshal in parade
Carolyn Talley Pearce will be grand marshal of this year’s Covington Lions Club Parade, “Forever Young.” Pearce is a native of St. Tammany and a resident of Covington for the past 55 years. She is a retired teacher of 33 years who taught at Pine View Middle and Covington Middle Schools. She also volunteered as 4_H sponsor for both schools for 25 years. She was also active at her family’s business, Talley’s Feed and Seed.

First Baptist Library Club

The First Baptist Christian School library hosted its annual book fair recently. Students were greeted at the fair by special guest “Clifford the Big Red Dog.” Profits from the Book Fair are used to purchase new books for the FBCS Library. Students earn Good Citizen slips for following the school’s Bee Rules: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful. Faculty and Staff have created reward systems for students to trade in their slips for desired items. Rader, rewards students with a picnic lunch complete with tablecloth in her office for 35 Good Citizen slips.
